Floyd Mayweather Jr. says NFL replacement refs cost him $900,000

Floyd Mayweather Jr. lives a lifestyle that most of us regular folk can’t even wrap our heads around.

The boxing great provided the latest bit of evidence during an appearance on “Jim Rome on Showtime” on Wednesday night.

After already discussing his incomprehensible home -- which apparently features suede walls and a two-story movie theater -- the conversation turned to Mayweather’s infamous high-stakes bets.

When asked the most he’s ever won while gambling, Mayweather casually answered “probably $1.1, 1.2 million.” In other words, just a little extra spending cash.

Then Rome inquired the most he’s ever lost at one time. Mayweather just as casually told him $900,000.

And here’s the kicker -- he lost it on one of the most notorious bad calls in NFL history, when the replacement refs erroneously awarded the Seattle Seahawks the game-winning touchdown against the Green Bay Packers back in September.

“I was upset, but, you know, it comes with the territory,” Mayweather calmly told Rome.

Oh, well. Easy come, easy go.

The funny thing is, we regular folk who simply enjoy watching football for fun actually emerged as winners without even placing a bet. After that horrendous call, the replacement refs were never seen on an NFL field again.
