Jordan Farmar seems to always be drawn back to Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles native went to Taft High School in Woodland Hills before attending UCLA. He was drafted by the Lakers as the 26th overall pick in 2006, playing for them from 2006-2010, and again during the 2013-2014 season.

Now he’s a Clipper.

“Los Angeles is home,” Farmar said during Clippers media day Monday. “I just didn’t transfer to SC or else I would have had it all covered.”

Farmar signed with the Clippers in July, agreeing to a two-year, $4.2 million deal. He is replacing Clippers backup point guard Darren Collison, who left to play with the Sacramento Kings.

“I’m really excited with the direction that this organization is headed and the opportunity I have to come in and contribute,” Farmar said. “I’ve been in here all summer, getting to know these guys, playing with them and really just trying to be one with this team and an integral member of this team going forward.”

Farmar, 27, averaged 10.1 points, 4.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds last season for the Lakers, but was also sidelined 41 games because of various injuries. Collison averaged 11.4 points, 3.7 assists and 2.4 rebounds last season for the Clippers.

Farmar said he’s excited to be playing for the Clippers, but added that he’s been given a lot of grief from Lakers fans about the move.

“Laker fans are mad at me,” Farmar said. “They were going on my Instagram and stuff. They weren’t too happy about it. But I’m excited. All I can say is I really value winning, and I think we have a real opportunity to do something special.”
