SURPRISE, Ariz. -- The Angels have traded the son of Manager Mike Scioscia to the Chicago Cubs -- for the son of hockey’s greatest player, Wayne Gretzky.

Neither Matt Scioscia nor Trevor Gretzky has advanced past the Class A level.

Matt Scioscia, 25, was the Angels’ 45th-round draft pick in 2011. He batted .194 with no home runs in 40 games last season, split among three of the Angels’ minor league teams.

Trevor Gretzky, 21, was the Cubs’ seventh-round pick in 2011, from Oaks Christian High School. He hit .274 with one home run in 41 games last season, split among two of the Cubs’ minor league teams.
