Dana White says Brock Lesnar will never fight for UFC again
UFC President Dana White said in a radio interview Thursday that former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will never fight again.
“He’s done,” White said on the “Dave and Mahoney Show” on CBS radio in Las Vegas. “He called me a couple of days ago. He’s never coming back. His body can’t take it. He said he can wrestle, but he can’t fight. He was contemplating coming back.”
Lesnar, who is currently competing as a pro wrestler for WWE, had a near-fatal bout of diverticulitis in 2009 and had surgery to remove 12 inches of his colon in 2011. He retired from mixed martial arts fighting after losing in the first round of a bout against Alistair Overeem in Dec. 2011.
Lesnar signed a one-year deal with WWE in April, and many hoped he would return to UFC when his deal ended.
White ended all that speculation Thursday.
