Johnny Manziel and Von Miller are not living together after all

Two days after troubled quarterback Johnny Manziel told TMZ he was living in the Los Angeles area with Von Miller, the reigning Super Bowl MVP took to Instagram to state that was not the case.

“Johnny’s not staying with me but he is my BROTHER!” Miller wrote. “Like I’ve said a thousand times, I got his back no matter what!”

Hours later, Manziel responded on Instagram.

“My bad V we were looking for some houses together didn’t mean to get you caught up! Love you bruddah,” Manziel wrote.

On Saturday, a day after Miller publicly lobbied for his Denver Broncos to sign the unemployed former Heisman Trophy winner, Manziel told a TMZ reporter that he currently is living with the star linebacker in L.A.

“I’m living out here with my guy, Von Miller. Everybody knows Von Miller. Super Bowl MVP, Von Miller, my brother. I’m living with him right now,” Manziel said Saturday night outside the Nice Guy nightclub in West Hollywood. “We’re getting our lives together, bro.”

Miller seems to be all right in that department. After leading the Broncos to victory over the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50, he now has a big payday coming up after receiving the team’s exclusive franchise tag, with a long-term deal said to be in the works.

Manziel, on the other hand, seems to need to get his life together. His two seasons with the Cleveland Browns provided few highlights on the field but plenty of negative headlines off it, including allegations that he assaulted his ex-girlfriend earlier this year.

That case was investigated by Dallas police and has been sent to a grand jury to determine whether Manziel will be indicted on a misdemeanor assault charge. The NFL is investigating the matter as well.

He told TMZ he had been to the nightclub five or six times in the last week.

“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with partying, bro,” Manziel said. “There’s a difference between partying and being out of control.”

Meanwhile, Miller stated the case for his team, which is quite thin at quarterback, to pick up his fellow former Texas A&M Aggie.

“If I had to make my decision on it, he would already be on the Broncos,” Miller told reporters Friday. “But we’ve got guys in the front office that make those decisions, and they put us in championships with those decisions. So I’m just going to follow those guys and have those guys take the lead.”

Manziel told TMZ he’d love to join Miller in Denver.

“So the Broncos, [team Vice President] John Elway — great dude. [Coach Gary] Kubiak — Aggie, my man!” Manziel said. “Listen, great organization. Anywhere I get picked up is a blessing.”
