USC football: Receiver Marqise Lee is elevating his game
USC receiver Marqise Lee does not appear to be slowing down after winning the Biletnikoff Award and finishing fourth in Heisman Trophy balloting last season.
On Monday during a full-squad drill, the All-American made a leaping catch in the end zone for a touchdown.
“He said, ‘Put it up and I’ll go get it,’” quarterback Cody Kessler said. “I threw that one and honestly, I went ‘Dang, I overthrew it.’
“He ... literally went up and got it. It’s nice to have someone that athletic.”
Last season, Lee caught a school-record 118 passes, 14 for touchdowns.
The junior also averaged 28.3 yards per kickoff return.
