Teams aren’t the only ones scouting

After having been scouted for months, even years, two new Green Bay Packers turned the tables on the pros shortly after they were drafted in the first round.

Boston College defensive tackle B.J. Raji and USC linebacker Clay Matthews were chosen ninth and 26th, respectively, by Green Bay -- selections that prompted them to rush to the computer to do some fact-finding about their new environs.

Raji told the Associated Press last week that after being drafted by the Packers, he was “still in shock” for the rest of the day. Less than 24 hours later, he “actually went on Wikipedia, looked up Green Bay to see what it was like, found some interesting facts about it, so it was good.” Added Matthews: “I did the same thing. First I looked where Green Bay was on the map, to find out where I would be for the next couple years. After that, I went to Wikipedia, started looking at the coaches, looking at their backgrounds and whatnot, just finding ways to familiarize myself with the team so when I came in here, it wasn’t such a shock. It is [a shock], obviously, but I think we’re that much more prepared.”

“You won’t see any fat boys in hockey,” Guillen told MLB.com. “And in hockey, you want to fight, let’s go fight. You get a two-minute penalty. In baseball, you get a 10-day suspension.”
