Clippers’ Blake Griffin named Western Conference player of week
Clippers All-Star power forward Blake Griffin was named the Western Conference player of the week by the NBA on Monday.
Griffin, who won the award twice before this season, received it for the seven days that ended Sunday.
During that week, Griffin averaged 27 points, 9.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.5 steals while playing an average of 36.9 minutes a game.
He scored at least 20 points in all four games and currently has scored 20-plus points in 26 consecutive games.
The Clippers went 4-0 during that week and are in the midst of an 11-game winning streak.
Charlotte Bobcats center Al Jefferson was named the Eastern Conference player of the week.
