Max Wittek and Cody Kessler are being scrutinized on just about every pass they throw during training camp.
But USC's quarterback competition will probably come down to who performs best in three scheduled scrimmages at the Coliseum before the Aug. 29 opener at Hawaii.Coach Lane Kiffin cautioned against measuring the quarterbacks' performances by statistics.
"That's going to be about us watching the film," he said Sunday. "It's not going to be about the numbers that are in the paper the next day because the ball can be tipped and intercepted and it's not their fault.
"A guy can catch a five-yard route, go 80 [yards]. So it's not just going to hang on stats. It's going to be about the whole evaluation of the play."
Freshman safety Su'a Cravens intercepted a pass by Kessler during practice on campus Sunday. Senior safety Torin Harris intercepted a pass by freshman quarterback Max Browne.
Wittek had a pass intercepted Saturday.
