Buckley 43, Brentwood 26 Buckley went over the .500 mark for the season with an easy win over Brentwood in Delphic League play. The Griffins are now 5-4 overall and 2-0 in the league. Brentwood is 1-8 for the season and winless in two league games.

Buckley guard Tara Moody scored 16 points in the game, making 8 of 14 attempts from the field. Teammate Ariana Lallone, a 6-1 junior, had 16 points and 21 rebounds. She is averaging more than 14 rebounds a game.

Faith Baptist 35, Campbell Hall 28 Valerie Hairston scored 16 points and Joanne Kim scored 12 to lead Faith Baptist over Campbell Hall. Campbell Hall is now 1-5 for the season. It was the Delphic League opener for both teams.

The game was never in doubt. Faith Baptist collected a 15-4 lead in the first quarter, then led 22-8 at the half. Dana Gelb scored 17 points for Campbell Hall.

Louisville 50, Chaminade 28 Louisville improved its overall record to 9-3 and its San Fernando Valley league record to 2-0 by beating Chaminade. After playing the league’s three toughest teams, Chaminade is 0-3.

Andrea Knapp, a 6-1 sophomore center, led Louisville with 18 points and 14 rebounds. After outscoring the Eagles 14-1 in the second quarter, Louisville coasted to the final buzzer.

Tina Kohler contributed nine points to Louisville’s total, while Melissa Ingalls was Chaminade’s top scorer with nine. She got eight of those in the second half.

BOYS Lutheran VC 59, Coast Christ. 50 Jonathan Doering scored 30 points and had 16 rebounds to pace Lutheran of Ventura County in its Heritage League win over Coast Christian. The win puts the Barons record at 5-4 overall and 2-1 in the league. Coast Christian is 1-2 for the season.

Doering, who is averaging over 24 per game for the season, had eight in the fourth quarter as his team broke the game open. Lutheran was leading, 43-38, and increased the margin to 13 points with Doering and Dan Randall leading the attack. Randall finished with nine points.

Masada 57, Lintz 54 Jeffery Davis made two free throws with 13 seconds left to give Masada the two points that proved decisive.

Junior guard Chris McGuire, who led Lintz with 22 points, missed a field goal with two seconds left.

Masada improved its record to 2-0 in the Westside League. It is 7-3 overall. Lintz slipped to 3-2. It is 7-3 overall.

Sam Torbati had 15 points for Lintz.
