Mater Dei High School won its 27th consecutive Angelus League game, 77-41, against visiting Bishop Amat Wednesday night.

The county’s leading scorer, Monarch guard Tom Lewis, played just 17 minutes and still managed to leave the game with 19 points. The scoring efficiency of that performance is not atypical for Lewis. He is averaging nearly 32 points a game, or almost a point a minute.

The Monarchs raised their record to 5-0 in league, 20-0 overall after shutting out the Lancers (1-4), 17-0, in the third quarter.
