Coaches Again Select Lewis as Angelus League MVP

For the second consecutive season, Mater Dei High School forward Tom Lewis was selected by a vote of coaches as the Most Valuable Player in the Angelus League.

Lewis averaged 31.7 points per game, 11.5 rebounds and shot 67% from the field to lead the Monarchs to their third straight undefeated league season. Four Monarch starters were named to the first team.

First Team: Mike Mitchell (Mater Dei), 6-6, Sr.; Matt Honikel (Servite), 6-5, Sr.; Tony Jenkins (Pius X), 6-3, Soph.; P.J. Wnek (Bishop Montgomery), 6-2, Sr.; John Scott (St. Paul), 6-2, Jr.; Stuart Thomas (Mater Dei), 6-9, Jr.; Wesley Coreton, (Pius X), 6-3, Sr.; Bob Coady, (Servite), 6-3, Jr; Mike Kelly (Mater Dei), 6-4 , Sr; and Brian Kelly (Bishop Amat), 6-2, Jr.
