Jennifer Osur scored a game-high 20 points Tuesday night to lead Foothill High School into the Southern Section 3-A title game against Brea-Olinda as the Knights defeated Palmdale, 54-50, in a semifinal game at Antelope Valley High School.

Center Chris McFerson contained Tracy Preeter of Palmdale inside, holding the Falcons’ 6-foot 3-inch center to 13 points. In the last two playoff games, Preeter had scored 21 and 23, respectively, on a combined 17 of 21 shooting from the field.

The Knights will face Brea-Olinda, a team they lost to in the nonleague season, at the Long Beach Arena on Saturday.

“We played El Toro and Woodbridge in the playoffs and they were real physical teams,” Foothill Coach Sheila Adams said. “That helped us. Plus they were tall. They got us ready for Palmdale.”

Turnovers also played a big part in the contest--Palmdale committed 18, the Knights had 8.

“It was the same pace,” Adams said, “they ran the clock down for us. It was interesting.”
