Titan Gymnasts Are Favored

Eighth-ranked Cal State Fullerton will be vying for its 10th straight Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. title today and Saturday in the PCAA gymnastics championship meet at San Jose State.
The Titans, led by seniors Shawn McNulty (rings) and Cody Oakland (all-around), are favored to win the team title and sweep the individual events. This meet will serve as a qualifier for the national championships at Nebraska on April 12 and 13.
The meet will be conducted under a new format. The PCAA rules committee has allowed each coach the option of using 12 gymnasts for the competition, instead of the traditional nine, and the top three scores from each event will be used, instead of the top five.
