Chapman Blanks CSLA in Tennis

Chapman College men’s tennis team, ranked third in the NCAA Division 2, routed Cal State Los Angeles, 9-0, in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. match Wednesday at Los Angeles.
John Hancock defeated Tuan Nuygen, 6-1, 6-4, in the No. 1 singles match and the Panthers’ Terry Davis beat Kevin Madison, 6-1, 6-3, in the No. 2 match.
The Panthers, 6-2 in CCAA play and 16-12 overall, will play host to Cal State Bakersfield Friday.
In other men’s action:
Stanford 8, UC Irvine 1--The top-ranked Cardinal (16-1) won every match but one at Palo Alto. Neil Amour defeated Scott Moody, 2-6, 6-1, 7-6, in the No. 6 singles match for the lone Irvine victory. Irvine (25-10) plays fourth-ranked Pepperdine at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Newport Beach Tennis Club.
