Cal Lutheran Opens Play in District 3 Playoffs on May 9

Cal Lutheran College, by virtue of a 4-1 victory Tuesday over Westmont, will advance to the NAIA District 3 playoffs, which begin May 9 at Southern California College in Costa Mesa.

With two regular-season games left, Cal Lutheran (23-13 overall) is tied for second place in conference with Pt. Loma (23-24). If Pt. Loma and Cal Lutheran remain tied at the end of regular-season play, the Kingsmen will be given the No. 2 seed to the playoffs because of their superior overall record.

SCC, with a 15-3 record, has locked up the NAIA No. 1 seed and will play host to the NAIA District 3 playoffs.
