Prep Baseball Playoffs : Southern Section 1-A : Orange Lutheran Wins, 10-6

Orange Lutheran High School scored five runs in the sixth inning Friday and defeated Yucaipa, 10-6, in a first-round game of the Southern Section 1-A baseball playoffs at Yucaipa.

The start of the game was delayed for an hour and a half because the scheduled umpires never arrived.

John Cummings led the Orange Lutheran offense by going 3 for 4 with three RBIs, and Mike Utke hit a two-run home run and scored three times.

Cummings (7-2) pitched the first four innings to get the win, and Utke went the final three to earn a save.

Orange Lutheran, the second-place representative from the Olympic League, improved its record to 13-9.
