Three Culver City High School baseball players and one from from Beverly Hills have been named to the All-0cean League baseball team. Outfielder David Barad of Beverly Hills and infielders David Dawson and Ken Kamba and utility player Mike Greenwood of Culver City made the first team. First baseman Mike Matousek and shortstop Billy Koch of Beverly Hills were named to the second team.
Judas T. Prada has been named assistant basketball coach at Loyola Marymount University by new Coach Jim Lyman. Prada comes from UC Santa Barbara, where he was an assistant coach.
Infielders Yvonne Gutierrez and Paula Cappos of Culver City High School have made the All-Ocean League girls softball first team. Named to the second team were catcher Jennifer Babb and infielder Lisa Rivera of Culver City and outfielder Tina Pirzadeh of Beverly Hills.
Kerry Hopps has been appointed coach of the Pepperdine women’s golf team. Hopps has been the professional at Woodland Hills Country Club since 1983. From 1977 to 1980 she played golf for Cal State Northridge before earning a bachelor’s degree in physical education. Pepperdine added women’s golf to its program two months ago.
