San Diego
San Diego firefighters, responding to a fire on El Cajon Boulevard Thursday, found the badly charred body of a woman inside a trash bin.
Lt. Paul Ybarrondo of the police homicide detail said the body was burned beyond recognition.
A service station attendant reported flames coming from an alley near the 5000 block of El Cajon Boulevard at 4:15 a.m.
Firefighters had difficulty extinguishing the fire, Ybarrondo said, but after the fire was put out, the body was discovered.
The coroner’s office is attempting to identify the body and detectives are investigating, Ybarrondo said.
