Calabasas Defeats Carp interia, 20-11

Taking what it was given, Calabasas High defeated visiting Carpinteria, 20-11, Friday night in a non-league game.
The Coyotes (2-0) took advantage of nine Warrior turnovers to overcome a 9-0 second quarter deficit.
Calabasas quarterback Darren Del’Andrae, who completed nine of 24 passes for 129 yards, threw scoring passes of seven and 13 yards to Todd Wensley and ran three yards for a third score to accounts for the Coyotes’ scoring.
Trailing, 9-7, with just over 10 minutes remaining in the game, Calabasas got the ball on the Carpinteria 14 when the Warriors went for a fake punt on fourth down and got slapped with an offensive pass interference penalty.
On the next play, Del’Andrae threw 13 yards to Wensley to put Calabasas ahead for good, 14-9, with 10:09 remaining in the game.
After Lary Bloom recovered a Ruben Zertuche fumble on Carpinteria next play from scrimmage, Wensley capped a four-play, 20 yards drive with a three-yard plunge over center Craig Adelman.
Calabasas punter Matt Webb ran out of his own end zone with 13 seconds left in the game to complete the scoring.
