Services for Hector Highton, 61, vice president in charge of sports for KTLA, Channel 5, will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Church of the Hills at Forest Lawn.
Highton died Saturday of a heart attack at his home in Shadow Hills. He is survived by his wife, Leigh, and son, Robert.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind, P.O. Box 1200, 350 N. Ranchitos Road, San Raphael, Calif. 94903.
Highton, a hockey goalie with the Chicago Black Hawks, Providence Reds, St. Louis Flyers and Los Angeles Monarchs, worked for KTLA since 1950. He became director of sports in 1977, and in 1983 was promoted to vice president, overseeing sports and all production operations.
