Though the regular high school football season is down to its final week, much remains to be decided.

Five teams have clinched league titles, but 23 of the 50 2-A and 3-A conference teams are still competing for playoff berths.

Here is a league-by-league look at the possibilities:

AVOCADO LEAGUE (2-A): El Camino (5-0), the defending San Diego Section 2-A Conference champion, has clinched a playoff berth. El Camino plays host to San Marcos (4-1) Friday. San Marcos and Escondido (3-2), which plays host to San Pasqual Friday, are in contention for the second berth.

San Pasqual (3-2) saw its playoff hopes dashed when it suffered a 38-6 loss to El Camino Friday. San Pasqual’s other league loss was to San Marcos. - If San Marcos beats El Camino Friday, it will finish in a tie and San Marcos will win the title based on its head-to-head victory. El Camino would finish ahead of Escondido, regardless of how it does Friday, for second.

- If El Camino beats San Marcos and Escondido wins, El Camino will win the title and Escondido will advance to the playoffs based on its win over San Marcos.

- If El Camino wins and Escondido loses, El Camino and San Marcos will finish one-two.

CITY CENTRAL LEAGUE (2-A): Three teams remain in contention for two playoff spots. Crawford (4-0), No. 6 in the Times’ Top 10, has clinched a playoff berth. It can win the league title by beating Hoover (3-1) Friday. Hoover and No. 8-rated Lincoln (3-1), which plays Christian Friday, are still in contention.

- If Crawford beats Hoover and Lincoln beats Christian, Crawford will win the title. Lincoln will get the berth over Hoover because the Hornets beat Cardinals.

- If Crawford beats Hoover and Lincoln loses, Crawford and Hoover will finish one-two.

- If Hoover beats Crawford and Lincoln loses, Hoover will win the championship because of the head-to-head competition. Crawford would finish second.

- If Hoover beats Crawford and Lincoln wins, there will be a three-way tie for first place, and nothing would be settled by head-to-head play because each would be 1-1 against the other two. The playoff berths would be decided by a league vote.

CITY WESTERN LEAGUE (2-A): University City (4-0) has clinched the title. Kearny, Clairemont, La Jolla and University are tied for second at 2-2. Kearny plays host to Clairemont and University plays at La Jolla.

- If Kearny and University win, the Komets advance based on their win against the Dons.

- If Kearny and La Jolla win, the Vikings will advance based on their win over Kearny.

- If Clairemont and University win, the Dons will advance based on their win over the Chiefs.

- If Clairemont and La Jolla win, the Chiefs will advance because they beat the Vikings.

GROSSMONT LEAGUE (3-A): No. 3 Granite Hills (3-0) has clinched the title because it has beaten both No. 4 Helix (2-1) and Monte Vista (2-1). Monte Vista plays host to Helix Friday for the second playoff berth.

GROSSMONT LEAGUE (2-A): El Capitan (1-0-1) plays host to Valhalla (2-0) Friday for the championship, and the lone playoff berth from the four-team league.
