Women’s Basketball Roundup : Long Beach Rolls Over Baylor

Cindy Brown scored 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Cal State Long Beach women’s basketball team to a 98-54 win over Baylor Friday night in a first-round game of the Long Beach Dial Tournament at Long Beach.

The 49ers (3-0) will play Indiana (3-2) in the championship game at 3 p.m. today. The Hoosiers, led by Cindy Bumgarner, who scored 16 points, outlasted Colorado (3-2) in the first game, 69-66.

Cal Poly Pomona 84, Fresno St. 73--Debbie Flett scored 22 points, and Vickie Mitchell had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead Cal Poly Pomona to a nonconference victory at Pomona. Cal Poly is 5-1, and Fresno is 3-1. Cal Poly will play host to USC tonight at 7:30

CS Fullerton 74, Utah State 60--Reserve junior forward Alyana McGee scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Titans to their first win of the season in the first round of the Golden Bear Tournament at Berkeley.

McGee scored 15 of her points in the first half as CS Fullerton (1-2) moved to a commanding 40-26 lead.
