Winners Add Names to Select List

Times football award winners Mike Reddington of Leuzinger, Mark Tucker of Banning and Gene Vollnogle of Carson join a distinguished list of past Times South Bay backs, linemen and coaches of the year.

Going back 10 years, quarterback Reddington joins Jamelle Holieway of Banning (1984), Gaston Green of Gardena (1983), Al Washington of Carson (1982), John Moreno of Carson (1981), Michael Alo of Banning (1980), Darrel Hopper of Carson (1979), Stanley Wilson of Banning (1977 and ‘78), Freeman McNeil of Banning (1976) and Glen Peterson of West Torrance (1975).

Going back to 1979, lineman Tucker joins Steve Pierce of Torrance (1984), Mark Sager of North Torrance (1983), Wes Jordan of South Torrance (1982), Montel Bryant of Banning (1981), Mike Bir of Miraleste (1980) and Buck Shaw of Palos Verdes (1979).

Coach Vollnogle joins Rick Hood and Rich Busia of Torrance (1984), Steve Schmitz of North Torrance (1983), Fred Petersen of West Torrance (1982), Bob Hunter of Inglewood (1981), Dale Washburn of Serra (1980) and Jack Epstein of Narbonne (1979).
