Wright Fires Oxnard Past Canyons, 100-94
Center Vincent Wright scored 26 points to lead Oxnard College to 100-94 win over College of the Canyons on Friday in a nonleague game at Santa Clara High.
Canyons, 9-6, which won the consolation title at the Palomar Tournament last week, got 31 points from 6-0 sophomore guard James Mixon. Vincent Ray added 24 points and 11 rebounds.
Oxnard, 6-7, led most of the second half. Canyons made 39 of 85 shots (45.9%) and 16 of 25 free throws.
