Button Pin Helps Titans Top Chico in Wrestling

Cal State Fullerton’s Bob Button pinned Tim Rider at the 4:30 mark of their heavyweight wrestling match Friday night to lead the Titans to a 24-13 nonconference win over Chico State at Chico.

Fullerton’s Ardishir Asgari recorded an impressive 18-8 win over Mark Hernandez in the 158-pound division and Dondi Teran beat Tony Trabucco, 9-3, in the 134-pound class. The victory gives the Titans at 2-1 record, while Chico State drops to 3-2-1. Both teams will be competing in the Doc Peterson Tournament at Chico today.
