Long Beach Sweeps Chapman in Softball

Diane Lewis and Kim Lee each pitched three-hitters Tuesday night to lead the Cal State Long Beach softball team to a doubleheader sweep of Chapman College, 1-0 and 1-0, at Hart Park in Orange.
Lewis struck out seven in the first game. The 49ers scored their run in the top of the 10th inning on two throwing errors. Long Beach scored in the third inning of the nightcap on a sacrifice fly by Sandy Winchester.
Panther pitcher Casey Tacason struck out 12 in the first game.
