Capistrano Valley Faces Simi Valley

Mission Viejo Capistrano Valley, which starts four players bound for Division I colleges and has used a full-court press to force an average of 25 turnovers a game in three playoff outings, will play Simi Valley in a Southern Section 4-A semifinal game tonight at 7:30 at Pepperdine University.

Capistrano Valley is 27-2, Simi Valley 26-2.

In other games: Hacienda Heights Wilson (26-3) will play Anaheim Katella (24-3) at Cypress College for a spot in the 3-A championship game; Murphy (18-7) will play San Bernardino (26-3) at San Gorgonio in San Bernardino, and Covina Charter Oak (21-4) will play West Covina Edgewood (18-8) at Covina Royal Oak in the 2-A Division.

In the 1-A division, Whittier Christian (24-0) will play Pasadena Marshall Fundamental (19-6) at Pasadena High, and L.A. Baptist (21-3) will play Santa Monica Crossroads (19-7) at Santa Monica College. Ventura Temple Christian (23-1) will meet Cerritos Whitney (18-5) at Cerritos High, and Hesperia Christian (21-4) will take on Bel-Air Prep (17-8,) at Victor Valley in Small Schools games.

All of the divisions will be playing in girls’ competition. Pasadena Muir (28-0) will play Cerritos Gahr (26-4) and Lynwood (25-3) will play Ventura Buena (26-0) in the 4-A. The Muir-Gahr game is set for Blair High and the other game is tentatively scheduled for Compton College.

In the 3-A, Brea-Olinda (25-3) will meet Walnut (25-4) at Diamond Bar, and Woodland Hills Louisville (25-4) will play East Tustin Foothill (27-1) at Tustin. Chino (27-1) and La Mirada (21-4) are scheduled to play at Biola College, and Artesia (17-8) will play Lompoc (22-3) at Gahr in the 2-A games.

Cerritos Valley Christian (26-2) will play Atascadero (22-1) at Morro Bay, and Anaheim Connelly (23-0) and Oxnard Santa Clara (22-4) will meet at Rio Mesa to determine the 1-A finalists. In the Small Schools division, San Luis Obispo Mission Prep (18-4) and Yucca Valley (23-2) will play at Twentynine Palms, and Maricopa (18-4) will travel to La Canada High to face Flintridge Sacred Heart (19-6).
