Ocean View’s DeBrouwer Is Sunset MVP

Ocean View High School senior point guard Blaine DeBrouwer was named the Most Valuable Player in the Sunset League in a vote of the league coaches.
DeBrouwer, a three-year starter, averaged 15 points and 6 assists per game. The league-champion Seahawks placed three players on the first team.
The coaches’ teams:
First Team--Ken Ammann (Edison), 6-2, F, Sr.; Ricky Butler (Ocean View), 6-5, F, Jr; Mark Georgeson (Marina), 6-9, C, Jr.; Mike Meyers (Marina), 6-1, G, Jr.; and Tony Panzica (Ocean View), 6-6, F, Sr.
Second Team--Chris Cole (Edison), 6-0, G, Sr.; Tom Dever (Westminster), 5-9, G, Sr.; Steve Guild (Marina), 6-5, F, Jr.; Tim Johnson (Fountain Valley), 6-3, F, Sr.; Steve Pemper (Huntington Beach), 6-7, F, Sr.
