Community College Baseball : Cypress Beats Fullerton, 11-8, For First South Coast Win

Cypress College scored four times in the sixth inning to erase an 8-6 Fullerton College lead and went on to beat the Hornets, 11-8, in a South Coast Conference baseball game Tuesday at Fullerton.
The Chargers (1-2 in conference, 14-3 overall) hit three home runs. Pat Longo’s three-run homer in the sixth capped the Cypress comeback. Jim Jackle hit a two-run home run in third, and and Bert Lizarraga added a solo homer in the fifth.
Jeff Mooney (2-0) was the winning pitcher after coming on in the fourth inning and pitching the final 5 innings. Mooney allowed four hits and one run.
Jim Bennett was the loser for Fullerton (1-2).
Rancho Santiago 10, Mt. San Antonio 0--The Dons scored all their runs in the second inning at home. Rancho Santiago used seven hits and five walks during the rally.
Mike Schwabe was the winning pitcher for the Dons (2-0, 8-2). He struck out eight and gave up nine hit in the first seven innings. Teammates Mike Sanders and Wayne Gilles split the final two innings.
