St. Anthony Names Football Coach

Jon Adler, 28, has been named head football coach at St. Anthony High School. A former player for Fresno State and a graduate of Cal State Northridge, Adler was offensive coordinator at Salesian High School in Los Angeles last season. He replaces Ken Sharrar, who is going to USC as a graduate assistant.

Ex-49ers Form Volleyball Team

Former Cal State Long Beach volleyball players have formed a team to compete in the United States Volleyball Assn. national championships May 12 in Wichita, Kan. Playing for the SBE/Raymond Construction team of Huntington Beach will be Rocky Ciarelli, Mike D’Alessandro and Mike Brawley, all former All-Americans, and Joel D’Necochea and Tom Wade.
