SPRING HIGHLIGHTS : CSUN Golfers Are in Second Place at Halfway Point of Championship

The Cal State Northridge men’s golf team settled for second place after 27 holes of the 54-hole District 8 Division II Golf Championship at Lake Shastina Golf Resort in Weed, Calif.
The Matadors, who shot a 355 Saturday, are four strokes behind Cal State Sacramento going into today’s final round.
Portland State is a distant third at 466, followed by Cal State Dominguez Hills (468) and UC Davis (484).
Sacramento’s Frank Shiro is the leader at 107.
Northridge’s John Levitt is third with a 110, and teammates Wayne Tyni and John McGihon are tied for fifth at 114 in individual play.
The top two finishers in district team play advance to the NCAA Division II national championships in Innsbrook, Fla., on May 17.
