Tigers Draft Santa Ana’s Bean

Billy Bean, a four-year starter on the Loyola Marymount University baseball team and a former outfielder at Santa Ana High School, was drafted in the fourth round by the Detroit Tigers Monday, Santa Ana Coach Bill Ross said.
Bean, who helped the Saints to the Southern Section 3-A championship in 1982, was a second-team, All-American selection this season for the Lions, who are competing in the College World Series at Omaha, Neb.
