A’s Fire Manager Jackie Moore

KANSAS CITY, Mo. —
Jackie Moore has been fired as manager of the Oakland A’s and Jeff Newman has been named interim manager, the team announced today.
Moore took over the A’s in May, 1984. The American League baseball club has lost 31 of its last 44 games. The team is in Kansas City for tonight’s game between the A’s and the Royals.
