La Habra
2 Young Suspects Apprehended: A silent burglar alarm at 9:50 p.m. Thursday brought La Habra police to Bullock’s department store in Fashion Square, where security officers let them through the still-locked security gates and a police dog led them to the storage room behind the men’s shoe department. There, two boys, ages 14 and 13, gave up without a ruckus, police said. The two told officers that they had not broken in but had merely been playing hide-and-seek during store hours, had fallen asleep and had awakened to find the store closed and locked, said Sgt. Terry Rammell. However, the boys had no explanation for the brand-new shoes they were wearing, Rammell said. The two boys, one from La Habra and the other from Stanton, were released to their parents’ custody and the possibility of a burglary complaint against them is being considered, Rammell said.
