San Diego Volleyball : Morton Helps SDSU Run Winning Streak to 19

San Diego State middle blocker Kris Morton hit .654 with 19 kills and 8 blocks to lead the top-ranked Aztecs (19-0) to a 15-10, 15-10, 9-15, 15-4 victory over No. 9 Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (8-3) in the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. opener for SDSU.

With the Aztecs leading, 6-4, in the fourth game, middle blocker Angelica Jackson came off the bench to record four kills as SDSU wrapped up the win.

SDSU hosts Fresno State tonight at 7:30.

UC San Diego, 19-2 and ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division III, swept four matches to advance to the semifinals of its own La Jolla Invitational. The remaining teams in the nine-team tournament will play this morning to qualify for the other three semifinal berths. The semifinals are at noon and the championship is set for 7:30 p.m.
