On the first play from scrimmage, defensive lineman Rob Holland of Taft recovered a fumble by running back Tylyn Cook on the El Camino 31-yard line. . . . Five plays later Adam Zutler kicked an 18-yard field goal to put Taft ahead, 3-0. . . . Quarterback Jon Thompson ran 5 yards on an option play and then lateraled to running back Donald Dozier, who ran 48 yards to the El Camino 33-yard line. . . . Eight plays later, Thompson sneaked in from the 1-yard line, putting Taft ahead, 10-0. . . . Early in the second half Cornell Collier of Taft ran 57 yards to the El Camino 7-yard line. Two plays later, Taft went ahead 17-0 on a 1-yard Thompson sneak.
