Community College Roundup : Penner Gives Golden West 4-0 Win

Pat Penner scored four goals Tuesday to lead the Golden West College soccer team to a 4-0 win over Long Beach City in a South Coast Conference match at Huntington Beach.

Penner has scored 24 goals this season and is three shy of the school single-season record of 27 with four games remaining. The Rustlers are 3-2-1 and 8-5-1.

In men’s Orange Empire Conference soccer:

Orange Coast 4, Rancho Santiago 2--Peter Meechan scored two goals, and Curtis Watton and Richard Pilon each scored one for the Pirates (6-0-1, 8-5-1) at Rancho Santiago.

In women’s South Coast Conference soccer:

Golden West 3, Mt. San Antonio 1--Shannon Augustine scored two goals to lead the Rustlers (5-1-2, 9-3-2) at Mt. SAC.

In Orange Empire Conference water polo:

Orange Coast 15, Citrus 12--Eric Keller scored five goals and Mike Bunge added three to lead the Pirates at Azusa. Orange Coast is 11-0 in conference, 20-3 overall.

Rancho Santiago 13, Grossmont 7--Darin Haskins and John O’Neal each scored four goals for the Dons (7-4, 16-5) at Rancho Santiago.

Saddleback 16, Cypress 5--J.D. Dennis, Keith Shore and Bruce Orcutt each scored three goals to help the Gauchos (11-1, 16-4-1) defeat the Chargers (0-11, 2-18) at Saddleback.

In South Coast Conference water polo:

Golden West 15, Chaffey 2--Jason Jeffries scored five goals and Craig Douglass added four for the Rustlers (11-1, 20-3) at Golden West College.
