MEXICAN ACTRESS SILVIA PINAL TO RECEIVE ‘EL CESAR’ AWARD

The seventh “El Cesar” awards, honoring outstanding individuals in Latino theater and entertainment, will be held Saturday at the Hyatt Wilshire Hotel.

The best play produced locally in Spanish will receive an award, as will Mexican actress Silvia Pinal. Other winners and special honorees expected to attend are Mayor Tom Bradley, Councilman Richard Alatorre, and entertainers Mario Cespedes, Eduardo Cruz, Guillermo Duarte, Roger Lopez, Carlos Madrigal, Carolina Russek, Dolores G. Sanchez, Francisco Sierra, Conchita Zapata and Giselle Fernandez.

The award ceremony, which includes entertainment, is open to the public and begins with dinner at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, tax deductible donations, are $35. Presented by the Panamerican Theatrical Assn., founded by actor/director Cesar Remon, the event supports and recognizes Latino actors, visual artists and news media personalities.
