College Roundup : UCI’s Cadigan Gains Tennis Upset

UC Irvine sophomore Mike Cadigan upset second-seeded Tim Trigueiro of UCLA in the third round of the ROLEX/ITCA Southern California men’s tennis championships Friday at UC Irvine.
Cadigan defeated Trigueiro, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, to advance to the fourth round, where he also won. Cadigan defeated Dave Stewart of the University of San Diego, 6-2, 6-4.
Mark Kaplan and Trevor Kronemann of UCI also won in the third and fourth rounds.
The quarterfinals start today, and the championships are Sunday.
In Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. volleyball:
Cal State Fullerton 3, UC Irvine 2--The Titans defeated the Anteaters, 4-15, 11-15, 15-11, 15-6, 16-14. Fullerton is 1-17 and 7-28; UCI is 1-16, 7-25.
In the California Colligate Athletic Assn:
Cal State Dominguez Hills 3, Chapman 2--The Toros (4-7, 12-16) defeated the Panthers (3-7, 11-22), 6-15, 15-9, 10-15, 15-9, 15-10, in Orange.
