San Diego Section Volleyball : Mount Carmel Beats Fallbrook

Mount Carmel defeated Fallbrook, 17-15, 15-11, 15-11, Saturday to advance to the quarterfinals of the San Diego Section 3-A girls’ volleyball championships.

It was the third time in three meetings this season that Mount Carmel had defeated Fallbrook. Karin Koiro and Dina Gutierrez had 13 kills apiece to lead fifth-seeded Mount Carmel (18-7), which will play third-seeded Grossmont in the quarterfinals. In other 3-A matches, Torrey Pines defeated Point Loma and San Dieguito beat Bonita Vista.
