OCC Women 2nd in Cross-Country State Finals

Orange Coast College’s women’s cross-country team Saturday finished second in the community college state championships at Fresno’s Woodward Park.
MiraCosta won the women’s division with 67 points. Orange Coast finished with 85.
The Orange Coast men’s team finished sixth with 141 points. Hancock won the men’s division with 68 points.
Santa Barbara City’s Anne Hayden won the women’s individual title with a time of 17:40 on the 5,000-meter course.
Orange Coast’s Harolene Walters (18:14) finished fourth and Lois Curl (18:33) 13th.
Tom Clayton of San Diego City won the four-mile race in 19:27. Jose Alcaraz (20:13) was Orange Coast’s highest finisher in 22nd place.
