The Cal Poly Pomona men’s basketball team landed an outstanding prospect last week when it signed former Pomona High standout Lamont Carruthers of East Los Angeles College to a letter of intent for next season.

Carruthers, 6-8 and 210 pounds, is a strong inside player who averaged 10 points and five rebounds a game as a senior at Pomona. He will have two years of eligibility for Cal Poly.
