Brooklyn Holds Yoest to Seven Points in 82-75 Win Over Loyola

Keith Grady scored 22 points, and Frank Gregov scored 18 as Brooklyn College defeated Loyola Marymount, 82-75, Wednesday night.

Chris Nikchevich had 19 points for the visiting Lions (5-2), who trailed at halftime, 39-35.

Loyola’s Mike Yoest, the fifth-highest scorer in the country with a 27.5-points-a-game average, was held to seven points, all in the second half.

With the score tied at 22-22, the Kingsmen (3-2) outscored the Lions, 10-2, as Jeff Petway connected on two jump shots. Adam Weinstein gave Brooklyn, which won its third straight game, the biggest lead of the game, 58-46, after 6:05 of the second half.

Loyola narrowed the gap to 75-72 on a layup by Mark Armstrong with 1:12 to play, but Gregov clinched the victory with four free throws in the final 44 seconds.
