ESPN Will Showcase Nunn a Second Time
North Hollywood middleweight Michael Nunn, who closed out 1986 by winning a state title at the Reseda Country Club in a nationally televised fight, will begin the new year in the same ring in front of the same cameras.
Nunn’s first fight of 1987, against a still-undetermined opponent, will be held at the Country Club on Feb. 6 and telecast by the ESPN cable network as part of its weekly boxing series.
In last month’s inaugural ESPN Country Club telecast, Nunn, ranked 10th by the World Boxing Assn., ran his record to 20-0 in capturing Alex Ramos’ state middleweight title via a unanimous 10-round decision.
