San Diego High School Basketball : Ensley Hits Shot to Lead Mission Bay

Mike Ensley’s jump shot with 15 seconds left in the game gave Mission Bay High School a 49-47 victory over Dana Hills in a nonleague game Saturday.

The visitors from Dana Point tied the game late in the fourth quarter after trailing, 28-19, at halftime. Mission Bay (5-4) was led by Dwain Smith’s 11 points.

SANTANA TOURNAMENT

Fallbrook 63, Lincoln 58--Fallbrook’s zone defense forced Lincoln to shoot from the perimeter and the Apaches cruised to the victory. Fallbrook (6-8) led throughout the game, opening up to 35-27 at halftime. Mark Ringkamp scored 26 points and Mike West added 12 for Fallbrook. Aaron Wilhite led Lincoln (6-4) with 14 points.

NONLEAGUE

Hilltop 58, Vista 53--Vista led, 10-6, after the first quarter but lost control of the game as a result of committing 34 fouls. Hilltop (7-8) was 32 of 45 from the free-throw line. Judd Rachow and Mark Dirksen had 12 points apiece to lead Hilltop.

Mira Mesa 73, San Clemente 48--Scott Cummings scored 16 points to lead Mira Mesa (10-1) to the victory over San Clemente (4-8). Mira Mesa took a 15-4 lead in the first quarter.

Girls

Point Loma 66, Mount Carmel 30--Mount Carmel had an 8-4 lead midway through the first quarter, but Point Loma then took over to win the championship game of the Ben Fisher Memorial Tournament at Point Loma. Point Loma’s Terri Mann was selected the most valuable player of the five-day tournament. Mann, who had 29 points and 30 rebounds Saturday, averaged 52 points and 28 rebounds a game during tournament play. Point Loma is 16-0, Mount Carmel is 10-2.

Patrick Henry 43, Chula Vista 38--Patrick Henry (6-4) was limited to three points in the second period, but held on for third place. Patrick Henry’s Sue Hawke led all scorers with 25 points. Chula Vista is 5-6.

Serra 54, Hilltop 30--Kris Fillat scored 19 points and Lynn Patrick added 12 for Serra (7-5). Hilltop is 2-7.

Las Vegas 42, Bonita Vista 28--Las Vegas dominated Bonita Vista (6-6), leading, 21-11, at halftime. Amie Roberts paced Bonita Vista with 12 points.
