Warren to Undergo Elbow Surgery
Mike Warren, a 1979 Fullerton High School graduate who pitches in the Kansas City Royal organization, is scheduled to undergo reconstructive surgery on his right elbow this morning at Centinela Hospital in Inglewood.
The procedure will be done by Dr. Frank Jobe, who performed a similar operation on former Angel and Dodger pitcher Tommy John.
Warren, who was in the Oakland A’s organization from 1983-1985, pitched a no-hitter against the White Sox Sept. 29, 1983.
Warren, 25, was on the Fullerton team that won the 1978 Southern Section 3-A championship. Before being sidelined by elbow problems in May, he was 5-1 for Omaha, the Royals’ Triple-A team.
