Orange County Prep Soccer : Fleming’s 3 Goals Lead Laguna Hills

Junior Brian Fleming scored three goals Friday to lead Laguna Hills High School to a 7-2 victory over Costa Mesa in a Pacific Coast League soccer match at Costa Mesa.

Pat Richards and Devin Diaz each added two goals for the Hawks (4-0 in league, 13-3-2 overall).

Caesar Zatarita scored both goals for Costa Mesa (0-4, 1-8-2).

Laguna Beach 2, Trabuco Hills 0--Joel Smith and Todd Pickup each scored second-half goals to lead the Artists (3-0-1 in league) at Laguna Beach. Goalie Keith McDonald had six saves for Laguna Beach.

Woodbridge 2, Orange 1--Matt Evans and Joe-Max Moore scored second-half goals to lead the Warriors (2-1-1, 6-3-7) at Orange.

In the Century League:

Villa Park 2, Foothill 0--Senior Jason Everakes scored two goals, both on assists by Richie Skinner, in the second half for the Spartans (3-0-1, 13-0-2) at Villa Park.

Goalie David Wetzler made two saves to record the shutout. Eric Beneker made nine saves for the Knights.

In the Freeway League:

La Habra 4, Fullerton 1--Steve Schmaltz scored two goals and teammates Moises Garcia and Sal Maldonado added one each for the Highlanders (2-2, 8-7-1) at Fullerton. Hung Huynh scored for the Indians (2-2, 4-8-2).

Sunny Hills 7, Buena Park 0--Steve Fichtelberg scored four goals to lead the Lancers (3-1, 8-2) at Buena Park. Goalie Jason Sugarman, in only his second varsity match, made fives saves to record his first shutout.

In the Garden Grove League:

Bolsa Grande 3, Los Amigos 0--Junior forward Randy Reynaga scored three goals to lead the Matadores (4-1, 7-7) at Los Amigos. Reyaga, who had only one goal in nonleague games, has scored 10 since being moved to forward. Goalie Rick Hollis had nine saves for Bolsa Grande.

In the Sea View League:

Newport Harbor 2, Tustin 0--Junior David Woodruff scored a pair of second-half goals for the Sailors (4-0, 10-3-2) at Newport Harbor.

Goalie Royce Hudson recorded his fifth shutout of the season by making eight saves. Eric Grover had seven saves for the Tillers (1-1-2).

In girls’ Angelus League:

Mater Dei 8, Connelly 0--Amy Sissung and Stephanie Duran each scored twice to lead the Monarchs (4-1-0, 10-5-2) at Mater Dei.

In the Orange League:

Valencia 5, Brea-Olinda 1--The Tigers took a 2-0 in the first 10 minutes on goals by Kristi Osgard and Tricia Smaldino and went on to win at Valencia. Allison Hook scored twice in the second half to put Valencia (3-0, 10-6-1) ahead, 4-0.

Sandy Tennison scored with five minutes left for Brea-Olinda (3-1, 5-6-1).

Kameron Sweeeney scored the final goal for Valencia. Tiger goalie Betsy Cruz had 10 saves.
