SUPER BOWL XXI : NOTEBOOK

Giant General Manager George Young, who saw the last two Super Bowls at the Rose Bowl, said before the kickoff:

“Both times, I remember sitting in the stands and telling myself, ‘This is where I want to play when we make the Super Bowl.’

“It isn’t the 100,000 crowd that makes this the best place for a big game. It’s the field. On a clear day, at least, it’s my favorite football field.”
