Lazers’ Mokalis, Brcic on All-Star Team

Goalkeeper David Brcic and defender Gus Mokalis of the Los Angeles Lazers will play for the Western Division in the eighth Major Indoor Soccer League All-Star game Feb. 11 at the Forum.

Brcic, despite his 6-13 record, has maintained a 4.04 goals against average with the Lazers, who have the league’s second-worst record at 6-14.

San Diego midfielder Branko Segota, whose two goals led the Western Division All-Stars to their fifth victory in six years last season, is one of five Sockers named to the Western squad. Sockers’ Coach Ron Newman will guide the Western team. Other Sockers named are midfielder Brian Quinn, defenders Kevin Crow and Fernando Clavijo, and goalkeeper Zontan Toth.

The Tacoma Stars will be represented by forwards Preki and Steve Zungul, and defender Neil Megson. Others named were Nebo Bandovic and Daryl Doran of St. Louis, Pato Margetic and and Jorge Espinoza of Kansas City, and Erik Rasmussen and Chico Borja of Wichita.
